PURPOSE:To enhance the image of a picture book by indicating different patterns on each key of an effective sound generating device, and indicating in the sentence portion of the picture book the same pattern as that indicated on a key for generating an effective sound, and operating the key with the same pattern as that indicated in the sentence portion so as to generate the effective sound when reading the sentence of the picture book. CONSTITUTION:An effective sound generating device 4 is provided with plural keys 5a to 5g, 6a to 6g and 7a to 7d used for generating effective sounds of various kinds by means of speech synthesis and arranged in three lines. A pattern corresponding to the image of an effective sound is indicated on the upper face of each key and a seal with the same pattern as that indicated on the key for generating an effective sound corresponding to an image expressed by the sentence 2 and shown by the picture 3 of a picture book 1 is stuck to the picture book 1. When the picture book is read using the picture book 1 and the effective sound generating device 4, the key on which the same pattern as that indicated at the beginning or end of a sentence is indicated is operated while reading the sentence, whereby effective sounds corresponding to images expressed by sentences and pictures are generated. |
