PURPOSE:To obtain an AlN sintered molded body having superior corrosion resistance to molten Al and useful for members of an apparatus for treating high purity molten Al or Al alloy by forming an AlN sintered body having a specified contact angle to molten Al and free from a grain boundary phase and a skin in the surface layer brought into contact with molten Al. CONSTITUTION:This corrosion resistant AlN sintered molded body for molten Al is an AlN sintered body having >=110 deg. contact angle to molten Al and free from a grain boundary phase and a skin in the surface layer brought into contact with molten Al and Al alloy.
