NEW LEUCOTRIENE B4 DERIVATIVES, METHODS OF PREPARING THEM AND THEIR USE AS DRUGS

Leukotriene-B4 analogues of formula (I) are new. R1 = COOR2 (where R2 = H or 1-4C alkyl), or CH2OH. B = 1-3C alkylene, 2,6-pyridyl or 1,3-phenyl, where the phenyl is opt. substd. by COOH or COOCH3. A = -CH(OH)-, -O-, -CO-, -NHCO-, -CONH-, -OCH2-, -CH=CH-, -COCH2- or -CH(OH)CH2-. X = N or CH. D = -CH=CH- (E configuration) or -CH=CH-CH=CH- (E,E configuration). The dotted line denotes an opt. double bond. (I) is e.g. (5RS)-5-hydroxy-5-(6((1E)-(3RS)-3-hydroxy -1-undecenyl)-2-pyridyl)-pentanoic acid methyl ester. (I) may be prepd. from the corresp. brominated pyridine or phenyl cpd. and a cpd. of formula R1-BR4 in the presence of n-butyl lithium. R4 is CHO or COOCH3.
