PURPOSE:To obtain a resistor of high properties by arranging the respective quantitative relation between the aluminum and bismuth in an additive with zinc oxide as a main ingredient so that nonlinearity and the limited voltage ratio of a resistor is specified values. CONSTITUTION:A resistor element is made of ten ingredients consisting of zinc oxide, bismuth, cobalt, antimony, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, aluminum, and boron. Zinc oxide is the main ingredient, and bismuth, cobalt, antimony, and silicon are 0.25 to 2 mole %, respectively, manganese is 0.4 to 0.65 mole %, chromium is 0.25 to 0.5 mole %, nickel is 0.5 to 0.7 mole %, and aluminum and boron are included in an additive, wherein the nonlinearity index is 30 or longer and limited voltage ratio is 1.65 or less. Thereupon, it becomes a high performance nonlinear resistor, in which nonlinearity index, limited voltage ratio, and loss are within the specified range and which is suitable for a lightening arrestor, etc. |
