摘要 PURPOSE: To secure the reliable passenger restraining operation by providing a plurality of crash evaluation circuits for inputting output signals of a sensor for detecting the deceleration of a vehicle and evaluating a deceleration signal by different algorithms, processing the output signals, and generating a trigger signal. CONSTITUTION: In a controller for a passenger restraint system including an air bag 10 and a trigger circuit 12, a detecting element 14 for detecting the deceleration of a vehicle is provided, and output signals are input into a plurality of crash evaluation circuits EV (EV-1 to EV-N) through an amplifier 16. In respective evaluation circuit EV, an evaluation signal amplified in accordance with the crash evaluation algorithms is evaluated, and an output signal as a FIRE vote is generated. The output signals of respective evaluation circuits EV are input into an adding circuit 18, the output signal indicating the ratio of the number of FIRE votes to the total potential vote is found, the ratio signal is compared with a threshold level by a comparator 20, and a trigger signal is output when the ratio signal exceeds the threshold level.
