The invention relates to a storable coating element for electrical cable joints to be applied to several cables of different outer diameters, comprising a tubular support (11) and a sleeve (10) fitted thereon, in which the sleeve has one or more coaxial layers (10a, 10b, 10c) consisting of compounds of cross-linked polymeric materials, at least one of which (10b) is electrically insulating, and is fitted on the tubular support (11) under conditions of elastic radial expansion: the sleeve has a wall of great thickness and is expanded in a range comprised between a minimum value (Dm) given by an imposed expansion value corresponding to an instantaneous elastic return adapted to cause a predetermined degree of elastic interference with the smallest one of the intended cables, and a maximum value (DRam) corresponding to a permissible expansion value with respect to the ultimate expansion of the material used. |
