PREPARATION OF ANTI-STAIN FIBER

PURPOSE:To prepare a stain-proof fiber simultaneously having a water and oil-repelling property resistant to washing and an excellent stain-removing property by subjecting a fiber to a two step treatment comprising adhering a polyester copolymer to the fiber and subsequently adhering a fluorine- containing compound to the first treated fiber. CONSTITUTION:A polyester copolymer is adhered to a fiber product such as polyester fibers, woven or knitted fabric thereof ornon-woven fabric thereof in a solution by a method comprising padding-drying treatments, and a known fluoro compound is subsequently adhered to the fiber product by the same method to provide a strain-proof fiber product having an excellent strain- removing property and further having a durable water and oil-repelling property. The copolymer is e.g. a polyester copolymer prepared by copolymerizing a polyalkylene glycol with a polyester segment comprising a dicarboxylic add and a glycol.
