The invention relates to the drawing-off of condensate from a heating installation operating on high-pressure steam. High-pressure steam is used to raise the pressure of condensate and discharge it to the unit or to a drain. The invention also relates to a device comprising a vertical vessel (6), air- and watertight, comprising a low feed inlet (7) for receiving the condensate, a high feed inlet (8) for the intake of steam coming from the high-pressure steam main, a discharge outlet (7) for discharging the condensate, means (10, 11) for detecting a low level and a high level of condensate in the vessel, these means being connected to a circuit (12) for controlling a solenoid valve (9) acting on the intake of steam to the vessel (6).
