It is characterized: - in that it includes a high rotor resistance; - in that its stator winding (4) is directly powered by a first phase (I) of the three-phase network - in that means (9) are provided for sending polarised, direct-current voltage signals (S), the magnitude of which is proportional to the speed of rotation of the rotor (6); - and in that the said signals (S) are sent to an electronic voltage regulator (11) supplied with current by the second and third phases (II-III) of the mains and in which the two output conductors (12, 13) which constitute the two other supply phases for the stator winding (3) transmit to it successive pulses of alternating current, proportional to the magnitude of the signals (S). <IMAGE>
