PURPOSE:To accomplish a high-speed recording with the suppression of density irregularities occurring on a recording image by a method wherein a recording head is driven so that the number of delivery energy generation elements in a preceding drive block is less than that in a succeeding drive block by at least one set, with respect to a plurality of delivery energy generation elements. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of drive blocks are formed so as to include at least one set of the drive blocks to be continuously driven in which the number of delivery energy generation elements in the preceding drive block is less than that in the drive block driven succeeding thereto. Therefore, this construction results in the suppression of the effect of a pressure wave produced by the precedingly driven drive block on the ink delivery action of the succeedingly driven drive block. In this manner, a high-speed recording can be conducted with the prevention of irregularities in image density. |
