PURPOSE:To prevent ink from poor discharge by a method wherein when a power source is detected to be made and when a non-operating period of a specific period is measured, a recorder is made to execute a discharge recovery process. CONSTITUTION:A present data and time are first obtained. Then, if an initial start after making a power source is obtained, initialization of each hardware is performed, and a cleaning command is issued to a printer. In the case where the printer having received the cleaning command is a bubble jet printer, forced discharge of ink is performed by suction force of a pump 53 and causes for poor discharge are removed. If set hard disc using start time is obtained, a spindle motor and a fan are turned on. Then, if using the printer is requested, the process is ended by error when it is being used by other application. Whether four days or longer have elapsed from a former use is examined when the printer is not being used. When four days or over have elapsed, a cleaning process is performed. |
