The present invention relates to improvements relating to ventilation units or cabinets, and, by extension, to air treatment units or cabinets. It relates to the emission of noise produced by the operation of these systems. The invention is drawn up in two directions: the noise passing through the walls of the cabinet and the noise escaping through the air inlet and outlet orifices. The device includes two totally independent bodies; the technical body 1 and the outer body 2. In the technical body 1 the fan 5 is located between two chambers with a sound absorption capability, the fan being placed in the chamber 6, the immediate space 12 located at the outlet from the fan 5 being embodied by a chamber 12 with the sound absorption capability. These improvements promote comfort close-up and allow the products to find a place, in general terms, in any location, without creating independent and specialised premises. <IMAGE>
