PURPOSE:To extend life of a recording head by providing a device which detects density unevenness or abnormal change in recording by a recording head, and a device which changes a driving sequence to drive a driving block member. CONSTITUTION:When recording is performed normally, by driving a recording head by a strobe pattern A, density unevenness is prevented from becoming damaged in an image unless separation becomes larger to a degree shown by (a), which is larger than (b) in Figure 5. In the meantime, in order to decide the generation of separation at a degree of (b), which is smaller than (a), randomly or periodically recording is performed by a strobe pattern B, i.e., a pattern in which density unevenness easily generates for each driving block, e.g. a ladder pattern of 50%, and the recording is read by a density unevenness detecting device 100 which is constituted by a line CCD sensor, etc. shown in Figure 1, and the degree of separation is decided by the degree of density unevenness. |
