PURPOSE:To make it possible to maintain a favorable discharge condition by only idle discharge motions while reducing the number of absorbing recovery process by selecting discharge recovery motion in response to the stand-by condition. CONSTITUTION:While first and second cam plates, which are integrally formed with a gear 24b, rotate one time, a gear 23 also rotates one time, and a cap becomes under a closed condition, and a switch 31 to detect opening/closing of the cap is under an OFF condition. At this time, a discharge port 34 for waste ink is under a dischargeable condition during absorbing motion. Also, under a condition in which a can 24a does not come into contact with a turning lever 35, i.e., under a condition in which tubes 28a-28d are ventilating, the cap is placed over an orifice part. Under a condition in which the ventilation is closed, i.e., under a condition in which a cam 24d presses the turning lever 35, and a rubber cap 32 is closed by a stopper 33, a roller 29c of a pump lever 29 runs on the cam 24a, and the pump lever 29 is turned counterclockwise in No. 2 Figure, and a first suction motion by a pump 26 is performed. |
