The invention relates to a display stand in which the animation takes the form of plunging the product to be displayed into a liquid and lifting it out again. It consists of a base (1) on which is mounted a watertight plexiglas cylinder (2) filled with water or some other liquid. A piston (3) on which the product is placed for display is moved up and down inside the cylinder by the expulsion of air from a pump (4) under said piston: holes are formed in the top part of the piston to enable it to fall back again when a controlling timer stops the pump. Inside the base a light source (13) diffuses a light whose colour can be changed by means of a segmented disc driven by a geared motor. The device according to the invention is particularly designed for displaying products at points of sale. <IMAGE>
