PURPOSE:To prevent ink from waste by performing a recovery process only if necessary by a method wherein recovery operation is started according to a command from a device forming a supply source of data for recording. CONSTITUTION:When a printing command key is detected to have been operated with a recorder, present time read by using a timer 57 is compared with time when a command for former time the recovery operation read out from a RAM 55. When one week has elapsed, a recovery operation command is output to an ink jet memory. Then, a printer control part 24' starts recovery processing in correspondence therewith. Then, a time memory area in the RAM 55 is rewritten by using the present time as time when the recovery operation command is output. Thereafter, printing information assigned by an operator is transferred to the ink jet recorder, and printing is performed. Further, when one week has not elapsed, printing is immediately performed. |
