PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a recording head by a method wherein the surface of a recording medium is electrified with a reverse polarity and, thereafter, generated corona ions are controlled with a voltage lower than an electrostatic latent image voltage in a second space. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the irradiation of a corona ion flow controlled by a signal voltage, the surface of an insulating recording medium 3 is uniformly electrified with a reverse polarity to that of the corona ion flow. Using the surface potential of the recording medium 3, the corona ion flow is accelerated, and a control voltage is lowered. In this manner, a low-voltage drive IC of a small chip area is made available. Therefore, a recording head provided with the drive IC can be enhanced in accuracy. |
