An adjustable pressure valve has a valve spring in a valve housing. The spring is attached to a first plate for operation of a valve body and to a second plate (50, 78) which is movable w.r.t. the first by an electric stepper motor (52). The stepper motor flange is mounted coaxially on the valve housing (22, 54) with its drive shaft (56) coaxial with the valve axle (68). The second valve plate is seated on a rotationally fixed, linearly guided spherical circulation nut (78) engaged by a corresp. spindle (76) driven by the stepper motor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use as a pressure-reducing or limiting valve. The valve achieves high positioning accuracy with reduced circuit costs.
