PURPOSE:To obtain bright and high-density images free from fogging by controlling the triboelectrostatic chargeability of magnetic carrier particles mixed with photosensitie toner particles and indirectly controlling the triboelectrostatic chargeability of the photosensitive toner particle as the reaction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A mixture 3 composed of the magnetic carrier and the photosensitive toner is mixed by mixing rolls 2 of a container 1. Not the triboelectrostatic chargeability of the photosensitive toner particles is directly controlled but the triboelectrostatic chargeability of the magnetic carrier particles mixed with the photosensitive toner particles is controlled to indirectly control the triboelectrostatic chargeability of the photosensitive toner particles as the reaction. A coating layer of a coupling agent contg. basic nitrogen atoms is, therefore, provided on the surface of the magnetic material particles or a coating layer of a curing resin contg. a component contg. the basic nitrogen atom as a copolymer component or hardener component is provided thereon. An adequate friction charge is, therefore, imparted by mixing of the magnetic carrier and the photosensitive toner. The transparent and high-density images free from the fogging is obtd. in this way. |
