<p>A class of polypeptides useful in an in vitro diagnosis of Mycoplasma infection in animals is disclosed. These polypeptides are also capable of inducing an immune response in swine which were previously not exposed to Mycoplasma. The polypeptides consist of a 50kd antigenic protein and various truncations of this protein as well as a B-galactosidase fusions. Further, various polypeptide fragments are provided in addition to 5' DNA sequences for the genomic clones. Expression is in E. Coli. Recombinant DNA methods for the production of these polypeptides and certain phage vectors useful in these methods are also disclosed. Methods of vaccinating animals utilizing a vaccination composition which includes these polypeptides is also disclosed.</p> |
