The film processing system consists of a film processor with four compartments: entry, developing, fixing, water (42, 60, 62, 134). The developer and fixer compartments are a removable double unit inside their respective tanks (30, 34). Underneath the racks is a double reservoir (142) which can be raised or lowered by an electric motor. In normal operation, film from the entry chamber (42) is guided through the processor by rollers (44-136). Developer and fixer are pumped from tanks (30, 34) into respective developing and fixing compartments through channels (74, 80, 82, 112, 116, 118) and sealing strips (86, 88, 122, 124) prevent leakage; film and guide rollers are thus immersed in chemicals. As film exits the processor reservoir (142), which has been in a lowered position, now rises and maintains the same liquid level inside the compartments. If liquid level is too high overflow is provided at two channels (102, 132).
