An open-end spinning rotor shaft is held in synthetic covered supporting discs. The metal disc is shaped on the periphery, having a series of grooves cut across. The synthetic outer ring has projections on the inner circumference giving a precise fit into the grooves of the disc. ADVANTAGE - The ring is securely fixed to the metal disc, and permits a lighter ring to be employed, and still give adequate suppression of vibration.
