The supporting device may be used during drilling or blasting operations in mining or tunnel construction. It consists of a working platform together with a height adjustable arm fixed to a face cutting machine. It is suspended from a rail fixed to the underside of the roof, and fixed to either side of its basic frame are supporting arms (6) pivoted on the frame (8) at the upper end with the lower free ends (9) braced into the forepoling position on the fixed arch supports (7).
