SHALLOW-LAYER, HEAT-STORING TYPE SNOW THAWING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the subsidence of ground as well as cut down the cost of snow thawing device by a method in which heat is stored under ground in the summer season and discharged to the ground's surface as needed to thaw snow piled. CONSTITUTION:Heat-collecting pipes 3 are set in a staggered or laminated form in one or more trenches 2 formed by excavating to a depth of 1 m or more under the ground's surface, and the pipes 3 are connected to a heat- radiating pipe 7 buried in the ground's surface 8 through header pipes 5 and 6 for distribution and returning on both ends of the pipes 3. A circulating pump 10 for water 9 circulating from the pipes 3 to the pipes 3 through the pipe 7 is also provided. In fine weather day, the pump 10 is operated to discharge solar energy stored to the ground's surface 8 through the pipes 3 and 7 in order to thaw snow.
