PURPOSE:To make excavation in a section with a sharp curve easy by a method wherein a vertical or an inclined shaft is constructed with a shield machine incorporating an independent shield machine, and a horizontal shaft is excavated after soil improvement is made to a space that is bored in an extended diameter with the independent shield machine detached from the other shield machine. CONSTITUTION:A shield machine A for excavation of horizontal shafts is installed in a shield machine B for excavation of vertical or inclined shafts, being independent of the machine B, and a vertical shaft C or an inclined shaft is constructed with the shield machine A by excavation made from the earth surface. The shaft is further excavated vertically in extended diameter with copy cutters 4 or the like provided to the shield machine A that is detached from the shield machine B, and earth E for soil improvement is injected into a section in extended diameter. The shield machine A is retreated into the shield machine B, and the machines are driven into a zone for soil improvement with the shield machine A placed in an inclined position, and thereby a horizontal shaft F is constructed. Thereby the strength required for excavation in a section with a sharp curve is secured by execution of the soil improvement, and excavation in the section with the sharp curve can be executed easily. |
