摘要 PURPOSE:To lower the gradient of temperature distribution in a cell stack as much as possible so as to stably operate a fuel cell by embedding cooling pipes in upper and lower stages in the cooling body of a fuel cell, and causing cooling water to circulate through the cooling pipes in opposite directions. CONSTITUTION:Cooling embedded in a cooling base 24 are arranged in upper and lower stages i.e., an upper cooling pipe 25 and a lower cooling pipe 26 and an upper inlet side header 27 and an upper outlet side header 28 are connected to respective portions of the upper cooling pipe 26 and a lower inlet side header 29 and a lower outlet side header 30 are connected to respective portions of the lower cooling pipe 26. Since the upper inlet side header 27 and the lower inlet side header 29 are installed on opposite sides, cooling water is circulated through the upper and lower cooling pipes 25, 26 in opposite directions. Temperature gradient occurring in a cell stack is thereby eliminated and each portion of the cell stack can be held at temperature sufficient for power generation of the fuel cell so as to enhance both the efficiency of power generation and the life of the cell stack in power generation.
