A theft protection device for vehicles with electronic ignition, particularly motor cars, using encryption and consisting of an encrypted ignition point detector (1) located in an inaccessible part of the vehicle (2), read by a remote reading device (3) and decrypted by an identifying and decrypting device (4) consisting of a cmputer (6) and a non-volatile memory (5), said decrypting device being activated only when a secret code is entered at the input (12). Protection is ensured even when all the electronic cirucits are replaced with others for which the secret codes are known. Various implementation devices are described. A remote inquiry device (10) and (11) providing theft protection for on-board accessories (9) and based on the same principle is also described. |
