Satellite geodesy system for excavator shovel wheel position

The geodesy system uses measuring signals from at least 4 satellites (10..13) received by a receiver (1) attached to the excavator adjacent the shovel wheel (7) and by a second receiver (2) at a fixed relative position to the first receiver (1), both sets of signals fed to an evaluation processor. The latter holds a model of the excavator construction. Pref. the satellite signals are also received by a reference receiver (3) at a ground station (9) with known position coordinates.
