A tube of textile material is used for upholstery applications. An area of the side of the band is left without being interlocked or interwoven. In this area, clampsa, wires or similar support material may be introduced without damage to the structure. The tubular fabric (1) is woven or knitted with a section (2) of floats (3). These may produced by the ommission of weft or warp threads. The floats may appear on each side of the band. ADVANTAGE - The support devices will not unravel knitted fabric, or break the threads of a woven fabric, when attached or pierced through.
