Precooling of coke-oven gas - with electrostatic filtration and naphthalene scrubbing
摘要
Indirect and/or direct precooling of crude coke-oven gas that has been directly cooled in the gas collection system of the coke oven. The process comprises (a) the hot gas from the collection system is passed through an electrostatic filter to remove nongaseous components, and (b) subsequent precooling includes a naphthalene scrubbing stage which is operated to a temp. above the naphthalene dew point (pref. at 30-50 deg. C) and which removes sufficient naphthalene for the naphthalene dew point to be reduced below the cooling end temp.. Pref. naphthalene scrubbing is effected with benzene or coke-oven tar. ADVANTAGE - Fouling of downstream cooling equipment by tar and solid naphthalene is avoided. (5pp Dwg.No.0/1)
