The channel (10) carrying warm air to the passenger compartment (16) is enclosed by a ribbed device, thereby forming a ribbed radiator (9). Warm air from the ribbed radiator (9) flows into the space between it and a plate heater (7) so that the latter is heated from its rear side (13). The plate heater is provided on its rear side with ribs (14) which run in the direction of the ascending air flow. On the side facing the passenger compartment (16) the plate heater (7) has a cover (18). ADVANTAGE - Operational reliability is increased.
