The thermode (7) for an electrically heated soldering head of a soldering machine has a carrier (8) and a heating member (11) which is intended to rest on the solder deposit and is of elastic design in order to be adapted to the shape and position of the soldering points. This member (11) is designed in a wire or strip shape. An elastomeric supporting compound (9) is arranged between the carrier (8) and the member (11). The heating member (11) is guided in the supporting compound (9), e.g. in a groove. This thermode is constructed in such a way that it is able to be adapted to the backing to be soldered and thus provides optimum soldering conditions.
