<p>A device for temporarily holding a load on a holding line comprises two articulated elements which form a clamp. Each element comprises a jaw and an arm. One of the two arms comprises means for suspension on a holding line. The device can adopt two positions, a first, closed position for holding the held load and a second, open position for releasing the load. The arm constitutes means for amplifying the holding force f exerted between the two arms in the vicinity of their ends to keep the jaws closed while the load is being held. The device comprises releasable means linking the arms for limiting the distance between said arms, exerting said holding force f required to maintain the jaws (11, 21) in the closed first position. The arms (12, 22) are so configured that the means (30, 37) for limiting the distance between the lever arms are arranged laterally at a distance greater than 0.3 metre from the axis of the holding line (32).</p> |
