An actuator system is used for the operation of a door into an electromagnetically shielded room. The unit has a bearing bush set into a housing and carries a drive shaft with a coupled gear. A closing action is produced by a bolt with a follower. The bolt is set into a panel element secured to the door that fits into the opening in the housing wall and has sealing laminates along the edges. In operation the rotation of the gear causes the door panel to move out as it swings to describe an arc.
