PURPOSE:To recognize the depth simultaneously with the three-dimensional form by providing a surface shadow display image generating part, a thickness measuring part, a color picture generating part, and a picture synthesizing part which synthesizes a surface shadow display image and a color picture. CONSTITUTION:The surface shadow display image of a specific object having picture information higher than a prescribed level is generated based on three- dimensional picture information of a body to be examined by a surface shadow display image generating part 25, and the thickness of the specific object is obtained based on three-dimensional picture information by a thickness measuring part 19. A color picture corresponding to the obtained thickness is generated in a color picture generating part 27 based on color information properly set in accordance with the thickness, and the surface shadow display image and the color picture are synthesized by a picture synthesizing part 29, and this obtained synthesized picture is displayed. Thus, the thickness of the specific object is recognized simultaneously with the three-dimensional form of the whole of the specific object. |
