PURPOSE:To enable a component to be accurately mounted, where the components are small in error of relative position, by a method where specific IC marks are provided at prescribed positions on the pattern of a printed board or an electronic component pattern, and the IC marks are detected by an image recognition process. CONSTITUTION:Trays 11 which house electronic components 2 are stacked upright inside a component feed section 10, and the electronic component 2 is fed to a mounting head 12. The mounting head 12 fitted to an xy table 22 is able to rotate around a vertical axis and to move in a vertical direction through a drive section 23, and the electronic component 2 is taken out from the tray 11 and mounted on a printed board 1 by the mounting head 2. A pattern recognition device 14 attached to a mounting section recognizes the pattern 7 of the electronic component 2 on the printed board 1, whereby the mounting head 12 is made to move or rotate so as to correct the deviation of the component 2 in position and direction obtaining the precise data of the position and the direction of the electronic competent pattern 7 and mounts the component 2 on the printed board 2. |
