摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the concentration of iron oxide in molten slag and to prevent the damage of refractory due to molten slag and the occurrence of the accidental overflow of the slag out of furnace by adding a carbon-containing solid granular substance to molten slag and reducing iron oxide in the slag at the time of melting iron and steel scrap in a top and bottom blown metallurgical furnace by means of top blowing of oxygen. CONSTITUTION:Iron and steel scrap in a solid state is charged to a metallurgical furnace of top and bottom blown converter type and an oxygen gas is blown through a top blowing lance, by which the scrap is heated to high temp. and melted. since the resulting molten slag contains iron oxide in high concentration, erosion by the reaction with the refractory lining of the metallurgical furnace and oveflow of the molten slag out of the furnace due to foaming are brought about. In order to prevent the above accidents, a granular iron compound containing >4.5% C is thrown onto the molten slag to reduce a part of the iron oxide in the molten slag and to lower its concentration, by which the above accidents can be prevented and also a molten ferrous alloy can be produced from the scrap in high yield.</p>
