<p>The subject of the present invention is a method for determining the tension in a zone of a metal strip held between two supports, such as a moving strip undergoing a rolling process, characterised in that a percussion of the said zone of the strip is carried out by the striking member of a striking body, in that, before the percussion, a reproducible impact velocity is imposed on the striking member, in that, after the percussion, the energy of the said striking member, which energy has been absorbed by the strip during the said percussion, is determined and in that the result of this determination is correlated to the tension in the said zone of the said strip. The subject of the invention is also a device for implementing this method, characterised in that it comprises a striking-body assembly (30), means (50) for resetting them and means (45) for triggering these striking bodies. <IMAGE></p> |
