PURPOSE:To correct the non-linear output and the current characteristic of light emitted from a laser diode to be linear by inserting a transmissive medium, which transmissivity is changed while depending on a wavelength, into the transmission line of analog optical signals generated by the laser diode which converts analog electric signals to the analog optical signals. CONSTITUTION:In a laser diode module package 6, a laser diode 1 displaces the oscillation wavelength to a long wavelength side or a short wavelength side corresponding to the increase/decrease of an injected current and converts the analog electric signals to the analog optical signals. The optical output of the laser diode 1 is collimated by a collimator lens 3 and afterwards sent out through an etalon board 16, isolator 5 and condenser lens 4 to an optical fiber 2. The etalon board 16 is the transmissive medium with the transmissivity to be changed while depending on the wave-length and according to the change in the transmissivity of the transmissive medium in respect to the displacement of the oscillation wavelength caused by the increase/decrease of the injected current from the laser diode 1, the oscillation wave-length of the laser diode 1 is set to an area where the non-linear response characteristic of the optical output form the laser diode to the injected current is compensated. |
