The invention relates to a pan head (1) for taking up a device, preferably a film or television camera (2), having a stator and a rotor mutually swiveling about a pitch axis (A), whereby the rotor (7) takes up the device (2). To permit determination of the torque between the rotor and stator with the device fitted on and thus facilitate e.g. the "balancing" of the fitted device in a zero position of the rotor, there is provided a torque sensor for detecting the torque in several pitching positions of the rotor (7). The sensor may comprise wire strain gauges, or a photoelectric device. Output signals from the sensor may drive and indicating display device. <IMAGE> |
