PURPOSE:To make it possible to freely set the wavelength region of hole burning recording within the wide region from visible light to near IR by using a specified dye compd. as a guest dye and an amorphous solid having compatibility with the compd. and transparency at wavelength at which hole burning is caused as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:A recording material is composed of a guest dye causing photochemical or photophysical hole burning and a matrix. The gust dye is one of dye compds. represented by formulae I-III (where each of X and Y is -O-, -S-, etc., each of R<1> and R<2> is H or alkyl, (n) is an integer of 0-3 and Z<-> is a monovalent anion) and the matrix is an amorphous solid having compatibility with the dye compd. and transparency at wavelength at which hole burning is caused. The wavelength region of hole burning recording can freely be set within the wide region from visible light to near IR. |
