The apparatus is for extending the memory capacity by supplementing the same memory board. A main board (10) comprises a CPU (11), an I/O port (12) and a decoder (13). A memory board (20) comprises a memory controller (21) for producing the control signal to read/write the data to/from a memory array (MA), a tap switch (22) for distinguishing the board by switching, a D flip-flop (23) for controlling the tap switch by the clock signal, and a memory board driver (24) for refreshing the memory periodically.
