Under the method, the mixed ethers of multiatomic alcohols share a common formula:<IMAGE>where R designates R1 -, or HO-R2, or R1 - (OCnH2n)k, or OH - R2 (OCnH2n)m, where R1 is alkyl C1 - C4, and R2 C2 - C6, n takes values 2-4, k 1-7 and m - 1-14, interact with alcohol with common formulaR - OH,where R is R1 or HO - R2 is alkyl C1-C4, while R2 - alkylene C2-C6 with the respective oxides of the alkylene under temperature 35-73 degrees C and pressure of 1 to 5 atmospheres in the presence of allumosilicate catalyst. As a allumosilicate catalyst is used allumosilicate, which has an amorphous structure with an average diameter of pores between 40 to 190 A and content 0.03 - 0.7 mg/ec strongly acidic active centres in 1 g of catalyst.
