PURPOSE:To surely prevent the breakage of an air bag due to the solid residue by installing a plurality of metal screen bodies in laminar form in parallel to the gas stream in a gas flow passage and cooling the generated gas and collecting the residue in the generated gas by the screen body layer. CONSTITUTION:A container A is constituted of a lower part container 1 and an upper part container 2 which is integrally joined with the lower part container 1, while an inner cylinder 3, whose upper edge is formed into a gas inflow passage 4 by keeping a prescribed gap from the upper part container 2, is erected on the inner bottom part of the lower part container 1. A gas generating agent 6 consisting of metal azide as main constituent is inserted into a gas generating chamber 5 partitioned by the inner cylinder 3, and an igniting mechanism 7 is arranged. Further, outside the inner cylinder 3, a cylindrical partitioning wall 8 suspended in the upper part container 2 is installed, keeping a prescribed gap from the inner cylinder 3, and a layer consisting of a plurality of metal screen bodies 11 piled in lamination form is installed in a filter chamber 10 formed between the cylindrical partitioning wall 8 and the inner cylinder 3, and a fine particle filter 12 is installed at a gas effluence port 12 formed on the side wall of the container A. |
