PURPOSE:To reduce the Joule heat flowing in an electron radiating layer by providing the first, second, and third layers mainly made of alkaline earth metal oxides with specific composition, providing the second layer on the first layer, and providing the third layer on it. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is mainly made of nickel and contains a reducing agent of silicon and magnesium, an electron emitting material layer 7 is coated on the bottom face of the substrate 1, and it consists of three layers. The first layer 4 is made of a ternary oxide of barium, strontium, and calcium and contains scandium 4wt.%. The second layer 5 coated on the first layer 4 is made of a ternary oxide of barium, strontium, and calcium and contains copper 1wt.%. The third layer 6 coated on the second layer 5 is made of a ternary oxide made of barium, strontium, and calcium. The resistance of a material layer 7 is reduced, and the evaporation of barium due to Joule heat can be reduced. |
