PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube excellent in mechanical strength by setting specific relations between the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction of the inner surface of the glass panel face part and the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the vertical axis direction and diagonal axis direction of the face part outer surface. CONSTITUTION:The captioned cathode-ray tube is so constituted that, when the radiuses of curvature in the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction are Rv, RH and RD, there may be the relation Rv<RH and Rv<RD. Thereby, the vertical axis direction having the weakest mechanical strength can be effectively strengthened. Further, in case the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the respective axial directions of the face part outer surface are set, while the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction of the face part outer surface are assumed to be Rvo, RHo, the constitution shall be set to have such relations (Rvo-Rv)>(RHo-RH) and (Rvo-Rv)>(RDo-RD). In this case, the mechanical strength can be improved as said above. |
