PURPOSE:To make it possible to bond a PE or PP product with any adhesive without the necessity for thermal operation in situ by applying a specified primer in advance to the adherend of the product. CONSTITUTION:At least one material selected from among a graft polymer prepared from an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, a chlorinated PP comprising a chlorine-substituted PP or graft unsaturated dicarboxylic acid/PP polymer, and a graft polymer prepared from an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and an ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer, optionally a chlorine-substituted derivative thereof is mixed with a solvent to give a primer for PE and PP products. The primer is applied to the adherend of a PE or PP product, such as a pipe, a gutter or a concave sheet, before an adhesive is applied to the area to effect bonding. |
