Process for the polymerisation of ethylene or copolymerisation of ethylene and of at least one acrylic or methacrylic ester, in the presence of at least one free-radical initiator, at a pressure of between 800 and 2500 bars and at a temperature of between 140 DEG and 280 DEG C, characterised in that the (co)polymerisation is performed in the presence of an effective quantity of at least one unconjugated diene. The invention also relates to a composite material comprising at least one layer of metal coated with at least one layer of ethylene polymer or copolymer film with a thickness of between 5 and 500 mu m, characterised in that the said ethylene polymer or copolymer is obtained by the above process.
