NEW MATERIAL:The GOO69C substance of formula and its salt. It has the following physical and chemical properties. Appearance, pale brown powder; molecular weight, 287 (by fast atomic-bombardment mass-spectrometry); solubility, easily soluble in water and hardly soluble in ether and chloroform; etc. USE:Carcinostatic agent and antibacterial agent. PREPARATION:The titled substance can be produced e.g. by culturing Streptomyces brunneogriseus Furumai et Okuda subsp. bannaensis GOO69 strain (FERM-BP 706) capable of producing GOO69C substance usually in a liquid medium under aeration and agitation preferably at 25-40 deg.C usually for 30-100hr. |
