PURPOSE:To intensify an adhesive force and to improve the damage resistance to a laser beam by uniformly heating a chalcogenide glass substrate or the end faces of a fiber at the time of forming the antireflection film. CONSTITUTION:The antireflection film is laminated on the chalcogenide glass substrate or both end faces of the same glass fiber. Although the reflection loss of the surface is decreased by the provision of the antireflection film, the strength of adhesiveness and the damage resistance to the laser beam is inferior. The substrate or the end faces of the fiber are, thereupon, uniformly heated. The strength of adhesiveness and the damage resistance to the laser beam are improved in this way. The uniform heating at the heating temp. at which the grain boundaries are most densely formed in the case of a crystalline film and are formed but in the hardest manner in the case of an amorphous film, i.e. the temp. below the minus 30 deg.C of the glass transition temp. (Tg) at the end faces of the fibers, is desirable. |
